Six official sources. One search.

Every list comes straight from the body that publishes it and is refreshed daily. The app shows when each was last refreshed and warns you if one goes stale.

    PEP coverage statement

What the PEP data covers, and what it doesn’t.

No PEP data set is complete. This statement is in the app too, so you can reference it in your own procedures and fill the gaps with your own checks.

    Covered

    • Members of the UK Parliament and the European Parliament
    • Office-holders in EU institutions
    • Senior people in UK public bodies
    • Heads of state and government worldwide
    • Family members and known close associates, where public sources record them
    • Former PEPs, for 12 months after they leave office (reg 35(9))

    Not covered yet

    • Members of foreign parliaments other than the European Parliament
    • Family members and associates that no public source records

UK and foreign PEPs are treated differently, as regulation 35 requires. For every PEP relationship, FirmScreen records senior management approval, source of wealth and source of funds, and schedules reviews.

    List versions

Prove what the list said on the day you checked.

Every screening records the version of each list it was run against. If a supervisor asks why a customer passed in March, you can show them the March list, not today’s. How records are kept

    1. Daily. Each list is taken straight from its official publisher, not a reseller. The app shows when each list was last refreshed and warns you if one goes stale.

    2. The UK Sanctions List published by the FCDO, which is the UK government’s list of people and organisations designated under the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018.

    3. UK law requires you to comply with UK sanctions, but your risk assessment may need to consider other regimes too. Customers with US or EU connections, or who deal in US dollars or euros, can bring that exposure with them. Screening every list in one search costs your team nothing extra.

    4. Yes. Each screening records the version of each list it was run against, so you can show exactly what the lists said on the day.

    5. No PEP data set is complete, and ours isn’t either. The coverage statement on this page sets out exactly which kinds of PEP are covered and which aren’t, so your procedures can account for the gaps.
